The Dixie Echoes visited with us in September, and it was wonderful! Even though they have just added a new member (Dallas Rogers) a few weeks earlier, they sang together as if they'd been doing it for years!
Randy Shelnut, whose dad Dale was one of the founding members, brought his own unique sound to the group, and has gathered a group of young men that would equal any 'old-time' southern gospel group. They sang many of the old standards, and also introduced songs from their newest CD. Of course, as any southern gospel fan knows, no concert would be complete without a little (?) humor, and this one was no exception. The antics of Stewart Varnado had us holding our sides in laughter, especially when he was being picked on by the other members of the group.
The entire night was awesome- we hope they'll be able to visit us again soon.
