To make any changes to the church’s website, you’ll need to be set up as an admin or editor. If your account isn’t set up that way, let me know and I’ll make the change.

Then sign into the site and in the top left corner of the screen, hold your mouse over ‘luvernefirstassembly.org’ and click on ‘Dashboard’.

Please remember, on any of your new items to make sure you choose categories and tag words that are appropriate to your item- think of tag words as search items. Whatever words you would use to search on Google for your item can be used as a tag word. This will help our readers and visitors find the items they need.

New Albums/Pictures
From there, follow these steps to add a new album. when you’re naming the albums, please use the year as the first part of name – for example, “2012 Christmas Parade” so the albums are sorted by year.

To add pictures to an album (the one you just created, or an existing album), follow these steps:

  • add photos
    (after photos are uploaded, you can go back to ‘album administration’ and click ‘edit’ on the album to edit photo names if you’d like- all changes you make are saved automatically)

New Calendar Events
To add events to the calendar, follow these steps:

  • Step 1
  • Step 2
  • Steps 3-6 (if you’d like, you can click ‘preview before step 6 to make sure it looks like you want it to)

New Pages/Posts

The main difference between pages and posts: pages are usually ‘static’ pages that will be listed in the menu at the top of our website (parent pages only, so make sure you choose a parent page for your page so it doesn’t clutter up the menu – your new page will show up on a drop-down menu). Posts will always be on the site, but newer ones will show on the ‘posts’ menu, and older ones will move down the list, just like news stories on a newspaper site. If you’re not sure, I’ll help you figure out whether it needs to be a page or a post.

To add a new page, from the Dashboard, follow these steps:

  • step 1
  • step 2
  • step 3-4 (don’t forget that if your page needs to be published at a later day, you can choose that date by clicking on ‘edit’ where it says ‘publish immediately’ – just choose the date you’d like for it to be published.

To add a new post, from the Dashboard, follow these steps:

  • step 1
  • step 2
  • step 3-5 (again, your posts can be scheduled to be published at a future date- this way you can write several at once, if you’d like, and have them published one at a time – this is great for those times when you’ve got time to write several posts, and will help you out when you’re short for time)
