On Sunday night, August 29th, we had a very special
guest in our church. Sister Gillicutty came by to explain to us how
we can "borned again." |
She asked Brother Steve if he would be the "volunteer" for
the demonstration. She asked him if his motto was really true: He's not
backwards, bashful or easily embarrassed. |
|
| Sister Gillicutty then began to show us how to be "borned again"- she said we all need a baby cap... | and a baby bib (this one says 'Future President"). | |
And don't forget the pacifier! |
Finally, every newborn needs a diaper. |
|
| By this time, Josh Butts had come in and was telling Sister Gillicutty that she had it wrong- being born again in Christ doesn't mean you go back and be a baby again. | After Josh finished his scripture reading, Brother Ken had Sister Lisa join him and Brother Steve on-stage. She was afraid at first- she said she didn't want a pacifier. | |
| The board made a presentation to Brother Steve and Sister Lisa- a beautiful card and a love offering. They both were very touched. Brother Steve said we REALLY surprised them- food was taken to the fellowship hall during choir practice and Brother Raymond and the boys changed the sign for us. | Sister Lisa, Sister Gillicutty and Brother Steve after services- everyone wanted to meet our newest member! | |
| Everyone brought something good to eat and by the time it was all laid out, it was quite a spread. Thanks to Sister Angie and Brother Rodney for helping set up the kitchen. | Sister Peggy made a wonderful cake that has our 'family tree' at the church on it. It was delicious. | |
Sister Gillicutty waits her turn to get some refreshments. |
