Over the past eight years, many men and boys have enjoyed the food and fellowship at the annual Crenshaw County swamp supper. Below are some comments from some of the men who've participated in the past.
Last year (2004) was my first year going….. great food and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I did not get to hear much of the speaker because I got stuck at a slow grill. I think it was a little like heaven is going to be….. food everywhere and everyone having a good time ;-)

First let me say "Glory To God" for this wonderful event. I am from Jack, Al . My family and I attend Zion Chapel Baptist Church. This was my first Swamp Supper and I will promote it even more for next year. This is by far the most enjoyable time I have ever had. Never in my life have I been around so many men such as myself, who love the Lord God Almighty. I am 29 years old and have always been kind of, well not ashamed of my God, but just felt like I was not getting it write. Or something like that.....well I left that swamp with a different attitude. I am not out of place,or different I just have Jesus Christ Salvation. And I don't care who knows it. I stand for something and it is beautiful. There were men and boys there who were just like me big, tough, strong, football playing, truck driving, pulp wooding kind of guys, every day Joes if you will. And they were not afraid to share their love for Jesus!!! After Mr.Williams got finished with his testimony, I realized that being a Christian was more than going to church....lots more!! I received a great blessing at this event. I did not think there were so many on fire for Christ men around. Amen Brother..Amen!! Any way, I just wanted to give you a run down on my experience at the Swamp Supper. There is lots more than what I have wrote here, but this is just the beginning of my story about my day at the swamp in Crenshaw County, Alabama. And I will be bringing my 20 month baby boy next year!! Thanks for a wonderful time in fellowship with my brothers in Christ.

The Swamp Supper is one of the most Evangelistic events that we have in our community and our county. As it pertains only to men and boys, it has a relaxed setting that gives the Holy Spirit a chance to minister through the fellowship of men from all over the area. Not only do we have a great speaker each year, we have the best Swamp Food you can find.
-Steve Defee, Luverne First Assembly
I have always enjoyed the food and fellowship of the swamp supper. It's a great event, and if it's possible, the "spiritual" food is even better than the "physical" food.

Ten years ago, some men from South Luverne Baptist Church were coming back from a swamp supper. One of the men that night said, we should have one of our own. The next year was the first and 8 to 12 attended. Ronnie Gardner was the speaker. Our eyes were opened. The second year, 80 people, then on and on, until now we have over a thousand men and boys. It has been a blessing to everyone that has been. And we look forward to seeing you at the next swamp supper!

This is the fourth swamp supper that I have been involved in and it has been a blessing to me (it's a God thing). I'm trusting God that it will continue to grow. Come and be blessed!

An experience like no other- to go to a swamp and eat whatever you want, and some you don't! A great fellowship between men and boys.
-Brent
It is a blessing from God! To go to the swamp supper - not ony to eat good food, but to hear from God. Because it is a God thing!
-Kenneth
Come have a great time with the Lord!
-Arnold
Ever had fried biscuits? Check them out at the swamp supper!

An experience that every man and young man will enjoy. Not only great food and fellowship, but experience the presence of the Lord.

The swamp supper provides an opportunity for men and boys to fellowship together in an environment that is not a "church place" but have a good time in the Lord and hear God's word proclaimed.

I have attended most of the Swamp Supper's for the past eight years. Each year the Swamp Supper seems to be better than the year before. There's great food, good fellowship, good music, and lots of fun for all who attend. If you come one time, you will find out what I mean. In 2003 there were over 900 men and boys who came and that says volumes about this "get together" on the Conecuh River. I want to encourage any man who reads this to come, and if you have a son bring him with you! You will be glad that you did!
